The exhibition ‘Women don’t paint very well – Ms MELA YERKA’ has now open to the public. It a show in which paintings of 19th Century women whose struggle for acceptance and individuality have been used to raise the dialogue to comments made by pre-eminent post-war artist Georg Baselitz declaring, “Women don’t paint very well. It’s a fact”
This particular exhibition is an initial response with another planned to discourage negative perception and any bias towards vital support for the practice of painters who just happen to be female.
The exhibition runs until 17 June 2017.
